Rick Ross
Producer
Rick Ross began his career in Film production as Managing Director of Los Angeles-based Record Label, Delicious Vinyl. He worked with acts such as Tone Loc, The Pharcyde, Masters of Reality and The Brand New Heavies and was in charge of music video production for the label, where he Executive produced over 30 music videos. In addition, Mr. Ross has produced music videos for Queens of the Stone Age, Calexico & Fatlip.
In 1999, he started a film company, Maja Films, with writer/director Xan Cassavetes. Ms. Cassavetes and Mr. Ross have completed two short films Salmon For Three & Dust which aired extensively on the Independent Film Channel. Their recent documentary on LA's first pay cable station, Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession premiered as an Official Selection at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, screened at film festivals worldwide this past year and had its’ US TV debut on the IFC in May, 2005; it was released on DVD in September, 2005.
Mr. Ross is currently in production on a documentary about legendary Gypsy Jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt.
Mr. Ross is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and currently lives in Los Angeles.
Mathieu Tonetti
Director
Mathieu Tonetti was born in Paris and spent his childhood growing up in the jungles of Malaysia and the deserts of Egypt. Mr. Tonetti developed his unique visual style by working with some of France’s most internationally acclaimed musical artists, directing music videos for Air, Phoenix, Sebastien Tellier & the Music. Mr. Tonetti recently completed a feature length documentary on Air, entitled Airstrike, and also contributed a personal documentary for the DVD of Roman Coppola’s 2002 feature film CQ. Mr. Tonetti currently lives in Paris.
